About The Flag Store

Stars & Stripes The Flag Store was established in 1993 as a project of the Veterans Outreach Center (VOC). The store was created to sell high quality American Flags and military merchandise while providing a consistent source of income to support VOC's operations. The Flag Store was originally located in Midtown Plaza.

In 1999, The Flag Store reopened at it's new location at 455 South Avenue. Now located right next door to VOC's Resource Center, local veterans had the opportunity to easily access VOC services after finishing their flag shopping.

In 2020, the global COVID-19 pandemic resulted in a loss of foot traffic and sales for The Flag Store. Despite the challenges, The Flag Store persisted and pivoted to a stronger online sales presence. The shift to online sales eliminated the need for a dedicated storefront, and, in 2021, VOC reclaimed the space with plans to expand veteran programming. In 2022, VOC's Fitness Center opened at 455 South Avenue while The Flag Store continued online-only sales.

In 2023, after community requests for The Flag Store's return, the store was reopened at 783 South Avenue, where it remains today.

Stars & Stripes The Flag Store continues to provide high quality flags, flag accessories, military branch merchandise, and apparel to the Rochester community. All proceeds from the store supports the Veterans Outreach Center in it's mission to serve veterans with compassion and advocate for all who have worn our nation’s uniform so they can RISE and live life to the fullest.
